Filter

This function allows you to tap into BoltWire's internal filter system to validate the characters in string. You can use existing filter types (defined in variables.php) or use your own regex pattern. Note you can also define new filter types or modify existing filter types in a config file. Here's a list of the default defined filter types. Review variables.php for details about what each allows:

letters
numbers
page
uploads
csv
parameter
math

Here's an example of how to use this. The check parameter (#1) is the string you are checking, and the filter parameter is the filter type:

[if filter 234234 numbers]Valid Input[if]

Here's how to use your own regex patterns in the conditional. Just make sure the pattern begin with a forward slash. Ending flags are allowed.

[if filter abcde '/^[a-d]+$/']Invalid Input...[if]
