This gives you more flexibility and can help you fine-tune performance. It also means that much of your page may not be constructed by a zone but by a block.
To help with that, I've introduced a simple skinblocks function which scans your skin for a given page and returns a basic list of the blocks and parameters used.
It should load dynamically, and I've added it to the zones action (which is the only place you will normally use this) so you shouldn't have to do anything to use it unless you have dynafunc turned off.
Anyway, here's an example of what the function generates:
