Basically, the embed function allows you to insert special code pages into your site. In this case, it embeds code.embed.calculator. That page comes in the core distribution. Check it out if you want and feel free to modify however you wish.

Note: there are plenty of little javascript snippets out there you can instantly insert into your site using this exact same technique.
