This is a simple plugin that allows you to create live weather reports on your site. Requires PHP 5.1+. Only supports US cities at this time.
Data is obtained from WunderGround.com by way of their RSS feeds, and is parsed by the plugin to output a nice display. It includes:
- Date of Update
- Current Conditions
- Short Forecast
- Optional Doppler Radar map
Just download the php script, and enable it on site.config for the pages needed.
- Using a browser, go to the http://www.wunderground.com page and input the city and state of the location you want to display on your site. Look what the resulting city name and state is.
- To insert an image, go to http://www.wunderground.com/radar/mosaic.asp and find the right image name. A static image is in the format radard1.gif. An animated image is in the format radard1_anim.gif
- Either create a new page on your site, or use an existing one and insert the following code:
There's also an optional debug=1 parameter that can be used to output various debugging info.
Here's a live example for Mesa, Arizona:
