Persistent logins allow you to store your login information as a cookie on your computer and then when you visit a site, it automatically retrieves that information and does the login for you. In our crazy busy society today, persistent logins are great!
Some time back we overhauled the login/logout system in BoltWire to make this possible--and I copied over some code from another site with working persistent logins to the BoltWire site. But it either never worked or the code broke somewhere along the way. And since BoltWire is kind of a volunteer project, I never really got around to looking into it.
Well, I finally got tired of always having to login, and decided I needed to get around to it. To make a long story short, I got it all working yesterday, and was thrilled to stop by the BoltWire site this morning and see myself instantly logged in. Very cool.
It's just another small piece in our quest to make BoltWire the best it can be. A piece we will definitely be including in our expansion pack. So if you have been ignoring that remember me button when you visit here, why not go ahead and check it next time you come by.
